Position Overview:

We are seeking a Manager of Learning & Development to design, lead, and scale firm-wide training and professional development initiatives for a growing Plaintiff Personal Injury law firm. This role is critical to driving attorney performance, operational consistency, leadership development, and client experience across all departments.

The ideal candidate brings experience building training programs in law firms, professional services, insurance, or similarly high-volume, performance-driven environments, and is comfortable partnering with executive leadership to support business growth and talent development.

Key Responsibilities:

Firm-Wide Training Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with firm growth, case outcomes, and client experience goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership, practice leaders, and operations to identify skill gaps and performance opportunities.
  • Build scalable onboarding programs for attorneys, paralegals, case managers, intake teams, and leadership roles.

Attorney & Legal Staff Development

  • Design and deliver training related to:
    • Personal Injury processes (pre-litigation through trial)
    • Customer Service best practices
    • Case management best practices
    • Deposition, negotiation, and trial preparation skills
    • Legal technology, case management systems, and workflow tools
  • Support continuing legal education (CLE) initiatives where applicable.

Leadership & Management Development

  • Create development programs for:
    • Managing Attorneys
    • Team Leads and Department Heads
    • Emerging leaders within legal and operations teams
  • Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and team development.

Performance & Quality Enablement

  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Practice Leadership to reinforce:
    • Standard operating procedures
    • Quality control and compliance standards
    • Consistent client communication and service delivery
  • Track training effectiveness through KPIs, performance metrics, and feedback loops.

Learning Infrastructure & Delivery

  • Oversee learning platforms (LMS), content libraries, and training documentation.
  • Manage internal trainers, facilitators, or external vendors as needed.
  • Balance live training, workshops, and on-demand learning to support a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Professional Training
  • Experience in law firms, legal services, insurance, claims, or professional services environments
  • Proven success building and scaling training programs for multi-role organizations
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Compensation Range:
$110,000$130,000 USD

Compensation: The base salary or hourly range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to; prior relevant experience, business needs and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
