White Plains is a vibrant and diverse community with a great history and a wide variety of services and amenities for residents and visitors of all ages. White Plains provides the ideal combination of urban and suburban flavors.

One of the region's easiest-to-reach cities is White Plains, which is situated in the center of Westchester County and only 25 miles north of Manhattan. The city is served by two Metro-North stations (White Plains and North White Plains), a public bus system (Bee-Line), and has easy access to major highways and Westchester County Airport (and is less than a one-hour drive from the major metropolitan airports - JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark). In the fall of 2018, the city will start serving as the hub of the Bus Rapid Transit system, which will provide specialized bus service across the new Governor Mario. M. Cuomo Bridge. White Plains seamlessly combines the traditional amenities of suburbia with a vibrant urban core.

The Westchester

The Westchester is an upscale shopping center that may be found in the heart of White Plains, New York. It is managed by Simon Property Group, which also owns 40% of the mall. Numerous renowned retailers call Westchester County, New York, home, some of which have just one site there. After branches in Short Hills, Menlo Park, and Paramus, New Jersey, it is the fourth Nordstrom to open in the New York City metropolitan area and is anchored by Neiman Marcus.

Saxon Woods Park

The 700-acre Saxon Woods Park is home to a number of leisure amenities. The park area was formerly known as Saxton Forest, named for William Saxton, who managed a sawmill on the Mamaroneck River's western branch. The name was altered to Saxon Woods by local usage.

The park has an 18-hole golf course, a miniature golf course, the biggest pool in the county, a water playground for kids, and picnic spots. Additionally, it houses the only playground in the county that is handicap accessible.

A path network links the park's southern and northern sections, which are both highland and forested and have mature hardwood forests. Cross-country skiers, hikers, and horseback riders all enjoy using the routes. The complete system stretches north to Maple Moor Golf Course along the Hutchinson River Parkway and south to Twin Lakes Park. It has connections to the Colonial Greenway and Leatherstocking Trail as well as sensitive archaeological areas.

White Plains Performing Arts Center

Additionally, the theater offers a professional venue for rent to community businesses, special interest groups, and organizations for the presentation of their own shows and the hosting of meetings for a fair fee with the support of a professional staff. These organizations offer a variety of artists and opportunities for various culturally distinct communities, in addition to securing a professional venue for their event.
