Tarrywile Park and Mansion
Tarrywile Park is the biggest city-owned park in the state, including little over 720 acres of meadows, woodlands, and steep hillsides. A few picnic spots, a lovely lake tucked away in the woods, and more than 20 miles of hiking trails are just a few of the attractions the park has to offer. The park is home to two historic structures in addition to its stunning and varied natural landscape: the 19th-century Hearthstone Castle and a Shingle Style mansion situated on an 11-acre tract with a gatehouse and several additional outbuildings. Visitors must make an appointment to tour the mansion.
Danbury Railway Museum
The Danbury Railway Museum was established to document the history of railroading in Danbury and the surrounding area. It is housed in a historic train station in the east part of town. The museum's highlights include model train layouts, galleries brimming with antiquated photos and relics, and a 6-acre railyard filled with vintage railroad machinery, some of which has been restored. Visitors can also enjoy a thrilling 30-minute train ride between the months of April and November. Seasonal hours vary, and the museum is closed on all other holidays besides Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Thrillz High Flying Adventure Park
Fun fun fun!!! There is something to do for all ages starting at 3. They have a side dedicated just for toddlers (separate wavier form). Arcade games available that you purchase at a separate kiosk. Snack bar in the back by lockers which is $2 to rent for your stay. A food area in front. There are two separate lines one for reservations and WALK INS, they have multiple party rooms, and massage chairs. They have extra rides as well the 360 ride is$6, the VR coaster $8, axe throwing $10, and laser tag. Very fun and family friendly. A Must visit.
Danbury Fair Mall
The Danbury Fair Mall, one of the largest retail centers in New England, debuted in 1986. Over 1.2 million square feet, the mall's about 200 unique shops and eateries are distributed. The enormous double decker carousel in the food court is a popular attraction for families with young children, and the mall often offers Family Fun Nights and other kid-friendly events, including a two-week-long carnival in one of the parking lots at the start of the summer.
